The faces of Saint-Martin inaugurated on the walls of marigot! St Martin


The Faces :Worn by the community culture service of st. Martin, the exhibition of art pictures “faces of st Martin” makes a sensation in the city centre of marigot. Inaugurated this Saturday, June 24, in the presence of the elected representatives of the community, photographers, jury and models, the exhibition will be visible for several weeks. It highlights the diversity of Saint-Martinoise and the eclecticism of our culture.
Received in the gardens of the community by the elected representative of culture, madam sylvestre, the five photographers selected by the jury of faces of st Martin, were honoured for their original and generous artistic work.
In the order established by the jury, Steph Deziles, Nathalie, Pauline Rebin, Isma Sidi-Ikhlef and glanny baloula, were selected to display their black and white photographs on the walls of public buildings.
For this first in st Martin, directly inspired by the work of the French Artist Jr and co-financed by the ministry of culture and communication, the community has attached the expertise of a jury of professionals, composed of Claudio Arnell, professor of Plastic Art and plastic artist, Alain Duzant, photographer, Stephanie Dargaud, director of the territorial archives and heritage and Carole mowed of the community culture service.
Among the models on the “film” of our photographers, local celebrities like anonymous, with the lead artist sir Rolland Richardson, a real local icon on the wall of the main building of the community hotel, but Also young artist Cindy Choisy, the singer patou of youth wave, singer Malika Maxwell, or the chosen one Sophia Carti, and faces that will certainly be familiar to you and you will recognize on your path.

Les « Faces of Saint-Martin » inaugurées sur les murs de Marigot !
Porté par le service Culture de la Collectivité de St Martin, l’exposition de photos d’art « Faces Of St Martin » fait sensation dans le centre-ville de Marigot. Inaugurée, ce samedi 24 juin, en présence des élus de la collectivité, des artistes photographes, du jury et des modèles, l’exposition sera visible plusieurs semaines. Elle met en valeur la diversité saint-martinoise et l’éclectisme de notre culture.
Reçus dans les Jardins de la collectivité par l’élue déléguée à la Culture, madame Yolande Sylvestre, les cinq photographes sélectionnés par le jury de Faces of St Martin, ont été mis à l’honneur pour leur travail artistique original et généreux.
Dans l’ordre établi par le jury, Steph DEZILES, Nathalie BEAURAIN, Pauline REBIN, Ismaä SIDI-IKHLEF et Glanny BALOULA, ont été sélectionnées pour afficher leurs photographies noir et blanc sur les murs des bâtiments publics.
Pour cette première à St Martin, directement inspirée de l’œuvre de l’artiste français JR et cofinancée par le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, la collectivité s’est attachée l’expertise d’un jury de professionnels, composé de Claudio ARNELL, professeur d’Art Plastique et artiste plasticien, Alain DUZANT, Photographe, Stéphanie DARGAUD, directrice des Archives territoriales et du Patrimoine et Carole TONDU du service Culture de la collectivité.
Parmi les modèles immortalisés sur la « pellicule » de nos photographes, des célébrités locales comme des anonymes, avec en tête de file l’artiste peintre Sir Rolland Richardson, véritable icône locale affichée sur le mur du bâtiment principal de l’hôtel de la collectivité, mais aussi la jeune Artiste Cindy Choisy, le chanteur Patou de Youth Wave, la chanteuse Malika Maxwell ou encore l’élue Sophia Carti, et des visages qui vous seront certainement familiers et que vous reconnaitrez sur votre passage.

Sxm Governor Holiday Receives Final Report From Formateur William Marlin


HARBOUR VIEW:— On December 16th, 2016, His Excellency the Governor of Sint Maarten, drs. E.B. Holiday, received the final report, including the Governing Program 2016 – 2020, Stability For Prosperity from formateur William Marlin.
The formateur has accepted the commission to form a new government supported by a majority in Parliament comprised of the NA-fraction, the USP-fraction, and the DP-fraction. The new government consists of Ministers who are committed to the promotion of the wellbeing of Sint Maarten. The new government will among others give priority to realizing sustainable public finances, to realizing waste management solutions, to further improving the access to and quality of healthcare, and to securing the safety and security on Sint Maarten.
The vetting of the candidate ministers and minister plenipotentiary, based on the pertinent regulations regulating the appointment of ministers has not produced any data that would impede their appointment. The formateur has nominated the following persons for appointment as Ministers and Minister Plenipotentiary:

The Governor has scheduled the appointment and swearing in of the Ministers and Minister Plenipotentiary on Tuesday, December 20th, 10.00 hours, at the Governor’s Office. WICSU-PSU signs labor agreement with PJIA St Maarten

Representatives of both the WICSU-PSU union and the PJIA Princess Juliana International Airport St Maarten, shook hands their new four year collective agreement.

After almost 18 months of negotiations the deal was sealed. The agreement covers the employees of Juliana Aiport’s air traffic division. The managing director of PJIA, Larry Donker said according to online quotes, that although it had been difficult and there had been many sleepless nights, that it was a pleasure, and honor and a great accomplishment.
